Alltel Phone

I have the Curve and it hasn't messed up any as far as I know, since you all started talking about it, I've been waiting for it...but fine, knock on wood.

On another not, thinking about getting a new phone. Either the "Tour" or the "Hero"(android), suggestions?

wow i was getting ready to say exactly the same thing. almost word for word. haha i got it for about 5 minutes at work today and so did some of the others that are having problems.

R13 I have a Tour and love it but the "Hero" looks pretty awesome. I probably would have purchased one of those had it been available when I upgraded.

I think it is a problem on the Norton tower. When I went to wrok this weekend I had the same problems but when i got back to Coeburn I didnt have any problem.

It is, apparently, but some folks in Wise are having issues, too, from what I've heard.

Now my Alltel phone service is all screwy.
I dont even have a blackberry or other smart phone.
It's on roaming (or has no service), here in Norton, and cant do text messages (get a connection error).
It usually shows 1X but it's not showing anything now.

My wife's Curve is all screwed up and she can't get a call out but her BB Messenger works.

I have a Tour and mine is working just fine. All this here in Norton which I assume that is where you are too elp6n.

A buddy of mine told me this morning that the AT&T Sale finally went thru and they have 1 year to get everyone switched over.

I've been trying to follow the Alltel/AT&T thing as best I can.

The Alltel website has the same merger update from a year ago ("No action is required on your part at this time. Your service will continue “business as usual” until these properties are transitioned to AT&T. At this time, the purchase is expected to be completed during fourth quarter of 2009")

I know the merger/buyout in South Dakota was approved but there's not been any finalization on the merger in our area yet.
I wish something would be finalized - I've been using the same beat up, dog chewed phone for 2.5 years, my contract is up and I'd like to know what's happening before I get a new service or new contract.
